The global increase in natural disasters frequency stresses the need for organizations to better handle the resulting supply chain disruptions. Managing the supply chain in the aftermath of a natural disaster represents a significant challenge as it becomes more difficult to get the “right product, to the right place, at the right time” when infrastructure is damaged or destroyed.
Geoff Hukins, Argos Software’s Executive Director, has been invited to discuss the role of the supply chain in response to disasters at the co-hosted Corporate Network Disaster Response (CNDR) and American Chamber of Commerce regional Disaster Resilience Forum on May 10 & 11, 2012, in Manila, Philippines. The CNDR is a network of business groups, associations, corporations and corporate foundations whose objective is to rationalize and institutionalize disaster risk management efforts of the business community.
Over 200 government and business representatives from the region along with USAID, UN and International Disaster organizations will address the challenges associated with recovery from disasters and international response coordination.
